[Edaily Reporter Yun Junghoon ]LG Uplus(032640)announced on the 13th that it will host the “2026 LG Corp. Sharing Market” to support the expansion of sales channels for social economy entities, including vocational rehabilitation facilities for people with disabilities, local farms, and traditional liquor producers.

This year’s Sharing Market has been designed as a win-win platform that goes beyond a simple in-house bazaar to support the expansion of sales channels for social economy entities. It will be held at the Magok headquarters from August 19–21 and at the Yongsan headquarters from August 24–25, where not only LG Uplus employees but also local residents can meet producers directly to experience and purchase products.

Vocational rehabilitation facilities for people with disabilities and social economy enterprises often struggle to reach consumers despite producing high-quality products. Through this Sharing Market, LG Uplus plans to contribute to revitalizing the social economy ecosystem by providing participating companies with opportunities to expand their customer base and showcase the competitiveness of their products. The company also aims to create a virtuous cycle that links employee consumption with the creation of social value, thereby supporting the self-reliance of people with disabilities and revitalizing the local economy.

Facilities affiliated with the Korea Association of Vocational Rehabilitation Centers for People with Disabilities will participate in this event, selling a variety of products such as nuts, teas, soaps and detergents, baked goods, and sesame oil. Businesses partnered with the Gyeonggi Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services will also showcase local specialties such as gelato, processed bellflower root products, processed apple products, and traditional Korean sweets. In addition, traditional liquor producers from the Gyeonggi and Incheon regions will sell their products, and LGELECTRONICS will offer refurbished home appliances (exclusively for employees).

LG Uplus expects this event to contribute to the creation of three social values: supporting the independence of people with disabilities, revitalizing the local economy, and promoting resource circulation. In particular, the sale of LGELECTRONICS’ refurbished products is intended to enhance the value of usable products and help spread a culture of resource circulation.

Proceeds from the Sharing Market will be used for the U+ Hope Library project. The U+ Hope Library is a flagship corporate social responsibility initiative that LG Uplus has been operating since 2017 to improve information accessibility and the educational environment for visually impaired students; every year, it provides educational equipment such as Braille printers and reading magnifiers. This year’s Sharing Market will expand the scope of support for visually impaired students through additional donations from the KMI Korea Medical Institute and electronic product donations from LGELECTRONICS. OmniCare, a healthcare company, will also provide health-related products to event participants and donate the proceeds from their sales.

Park Kyung-joong, Executive Vice President in charge of External Cooperation at LG Uplus, stated, “This Sharing Market is significant as a platform for mutual growth that connects social economy enterprises with consumers.” He added, “We will continue to support products made by people with disabilities and outstanding local goods so they can reach more consumers, and we will expand opportunities for the sustainable growth of the social economy ecosystem.”
