Lotte’s Shin Dong-bin Tops the List of Retail Industry Leaders in Compensation for the First Half of This Year
CJ Corp.’s Lee Jay-Hyun Ranks Second with 9.304 Billion Won
Shinsegae Co.,Ltd’s Jeong Yong-jin and Jeong Yu-jin Receive 2.205 Billion Won Each
Hanwha’s Kim Dong-seon Receives 1.267 Billion Won; HotelShilla’s Lee Bu-jin Receives 799 Million Won
[Edaily Reporter SHIN MIN JOON ] Shin Dong-bin, Chairman of Lotte Group, received the highest compensation among the heads of major retail companies in the first half of this year.

(Photo courtesy of Lotte Corporation) According to semi-annual reports and other documents released by each company on the 14th, Chairman Shin Dong-bin received a total of 11.227 billion won in compensation from six affiliates—including LOTTE SHOPPING CO., LTD., Lotte Corporation, Hotel Lotte, LOTTE WELLFOOD, LOTTE CHEMICAL CORPORATION, and Lotte Corporation—during the first half of this year.
Specifically, he received 3.33 billion won from LOTTE SHOPPING CO., LTD., 3.257 billion won from Lotte Corporation, and 1.626 billion won from Hotel Lotte. This was followed by 1.151 billion won from LOTTE WELLFOOD, 1.087 billion won from LOTTE CHEMICAL CORPORATION, and 776 million won from Lotte Corporation. Chairman Shin Dong-bin’s compensation increased by approximately 14% compared to the 9.881 billion won he received in the first half of last year.
CJ Corp. Chairman Lee Jay-Hyun came in second, receiving 9.304 billion won in compensation. Chairman Lee received 7.345 billion won from CJ Corp.(001040)and 1.959 billion won from CJ CheilJedang Corp(097950).
Shinsegae Co.,Ltd. Chairman Chung Yong-jin and Shinsegae Co.,Ltd. Chairman Chung Yu-kyung each received 2.205 billion won. Chairman Chung Yong-jin received his compensation from E-MART Co., Ltd.(139480), while Chairman Chung Yu-kyung received hers from Shinsegae Co.,Ltd. The amounts for each component—1.205 billion won in salary and 1 billion won in bonuses—were identical for both Chairman Chung Yong-jin and Chairman Chung Yu-kyung.
Chairman Jeong Yong-jin and Chairwoman Jeong Yu-kyung also received 2.021 billion won each in the first half of last year. Executive Chairwoman Lee Myung Hee and Honorary Chairwoman Jeong Jae-eun each received 1.516 billion won.
Chairman Jiseon Chung of HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD and Vice Chairman Jeong Gyo-seon received 2.573 billion won and 2.177 billion won, respectively. Kim Dong-seon, President of Future Strategy at Hanwha Machinery & Service Holdings (Hanwha M&S), received 1.267 billion won. Lee Boo-jin, President of HotelShilla(008770), received 799 million won. Heo Seo-hong, CEO of GS Retail(007070), also received 776 million won.
