[Edaily Reporter Kim Kyung-eun ] As stock prices of domestic memory semiconductor companies show signs of a rebound, analysts suggest there is room for further gains, driven by strong memory prices in the third quarter and the full-scale rollout of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) 4.

Kim Rok-ho, an analyst at Hana Securities, stated in a report on the 18th, “It is highly likely that stock prices will continue to trend steadily until NVIDIA’s earnings announcement on the 27th.”

Analyst Kim assessed that while the stock prices of domestic memory companies have successfully rebounded, the strength of their recovery remains weak compared to their global peers. Given that a clear trend of stock price recovery is emerging across the global semiconductor industry, he believes it is highly likely that domestic memory companies will also join this upward trend.

Memory exports are also continuing to perform well. As of the 10th, based on business days, the average daily export value of memory semiconductors reached $1.33 billion, a 214% increase compared to the same month last year. By product category, DRAM exports showed the sharpest increase, rising 489% to $770 million. NAND exports rose 304% to $130 million.

Exports of multi-chip packages (MCPs) and solid-state drives (SSDs) also rose by 241% and 57%, respectively, to $780 million and $80 million. While exports of major memory products increased across the board, DRAM, NAND, and MCP all posted triple-digit growth rates. Analysts view this as an indicator that the upward trend in memory prices is continuing steadily.

SamsungElectronics(005930)The fact that both SK hynix(000660) mentioned that HBM4 shipments will begin in earnest starting in the third quarter was also cited as a positive factor.

Analyst Kim stated, “As HBM4 shipments gain momentum, the blended average selling price (Blended ASP) of HBM will shift to an upward trend,” adding, “Since general memory prices are also showing a robust trend, it is highly likely that earnings estimates for memory companies will be revised upward again.”

He also judged that a strategy of increasing exposure to the semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment (MPE) sector remains valid. The analysis suggests that, as valuation pressures have eased due to the recent stock price correction, the sector is highly likely to benefit from improved earnings driven by the recovery in the memory market.
