[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] VIVOZON PHARMACEUTICAL(082800)’s non-narcotic analgesic “Anaprazu” is in the running for the Gallien Prize, often referred to as the “Nobel Prize of the pharmaceutical industry.”

VIVOZON PHARMACEUTICAL announced on the 19th that Anaprazu has been selected as an official nominee for the Best Pharmaceutical Product Award at the 1st “2026 Pre-Galien Korea Awards,” organized by the Galien Foundation.

The Prix Galien is a global life sciences awards program that honors achievements in promoting human health through innovative pharmaceuticals and medical technologies. Outstanding winners selected from each country are subsequently eligible to compete for the “Prix Galien International.”

Park Young-min, Director of the National New Drug Development Project and Chair of the Judging Committee for the first Prix Galien Korea, stated in a previously released interview that scientific rigor and innovation are prioritized over a company’s investment scale, size, or market reputation. In particular, the committee comprehensively evaluates the scientific value and R&D achievements of “first-in-class” innovative drugs that transform existing treatment paradigms and offer new treatment options.

Anaprazu is a non-opioid analgesic that controls pain through a dual mechanism of action: inhibition of glycine transporter type 2 (GlyT2) and antagonism of the serotonin 2A (5-HT2A) receptor. It manages moderate to severe acute postoperative pain through a mechanism of action distinct from that of conventional opioids or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

VIVOZON PHARMACEUTICAL plans to use this official nomination as an opportunity to highlight Anapra’s novel mechanism of action and clinical value, while also accelerating its global development.
