[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] The group NCT 127 has played its strongest card amid a period of change. With a newly formed five-member lineup, they have promised even more intense music and performances. Building on “Neo”—a unique identity they have cultivated over their 10-year career—it is time for them to once again showcase a new side of NCT 127.

◇A Newly Formed 5-Member Lineup, a Deeper “Neo”
According to their agency, SM Entertainment, NCT 127 will release their 7th full-length album, “BLINGY,” today (the 24th) at 6 p.m. This marks their first full-length album in about two years since their 6th full-length album, “WALK,” in 2024, and is their first new release following the group’s restructuring.
Following Mark’s departure from NCT last April, NCT 127 was reorganized into a 7-member lineup. With Doyoung and Jungwoo currently serving in the military, this promotional run will feature five members: Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, and Haechan. Despite these changes, the group has chosen to release a full-length album packed with nine tracks. Musically, rather than toning things down, they’ve further intensified NCT 127’s signature intense “neo” sound.
At the heart of their seventh studio album is the title track of the same name, “Blingy.” This hip-hop track blends distorted synth sounds, powerful drum beats, and chanting choruses, incorporating elements of rage and dubstep in a style unique to NCT 127. The song expresses the group’s confidence and pride, singing of unstoppable, soaring energy and a presence that shines like a massive blaze.
Amid the changes surrounding the group, their musical direction has become even clearer. NCT 127, who have made distinctive sounds—such as “Hero” (Kick It), “Sticker,” and “2 Baddies”—their own, have once again placed their signature “neo” style front and center.

The music video teaser, released on the 21st, also features racing scenes that charge forward unstoppably over a heavy beat, along with dynamic performances. The song’s message—of never stopping and continuing to rise—naturally resonates with NCT 127’s current phase as they enter a new chapter.
The synergy of the new lineup is another highlight to watch. Attention is focused on how Taeyong’s rap and performance, combined with Jaehyun and Haechan’s vocals and the unique personalities of Johnny and Yuta, will come together. As this is a newly formed lineup, each member’s individual style and presence are expected to shine even more brightly.
The album features a total of nine tracks, including the title track. Spanning various genres—from hip-hop to rock, pop, and indie pop—it showcases NCT 127’s musical spectrum not just through a single track like “Bling,” but across the entire full-length album.

◇10 Years Since Debut: “127” Opens a New Chapter with a New Lineup
This comeback coincides with the group’s 10th anniversary. Since their debut in 2016, NCT 127 has consistently delivered experimental music, unique song structures, and intense performances over the past decade, establishing “Neo” as their signature brand.
The new lineup has already warmed up on the global stage. NCT 127 recently took the stage as headliners at “KCON LA 2026” in Los Angeles, showcasing the five members’ chemistry. They also appeared on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” cementing the current image of NCT 127 in the minds of global fans ahead of their comeback.
They have also laid the groundwork for the group’s future. Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Haechan all renewed their contracts with SM Entertainment last month, including some who signed early renewals. While the five members are currently active, NCT 127 will continue its journey as a seven-member group in the future.
Ultimately, the key points to watch for in this comeback are the new synergy created by the changed lineup and the unique identity of NCT 127, which will become even more distinct within it. Faced with change, rather than putting on a new outfit, they’ve chosen to showcase their most confident “Neo” identity more vividly. Though there are only five members, they’re coming back stronger than ever. Attention is focused on whether NCT 127’s strategic move—as they enter a new phase after 10 years since their debut—will pay off.
