KTCorporation (CEO Park Yoon-young) announced on the 24th that it is aggressively pursuing its “Next IT” strategy, which expands the scope of core IT system modernization to encompass platforms, infrastructure, and the work environment.
Based on its accumulated expertise in IT deployment and operations, this strategy will be rolled out around three pillars: △Next IT Platform (Platform), △Next IT Infra (Infrastructure), and △Next IT Works (Work Environment). The company aims to expand the role of IT beyond merely ensuring stable system operations to serve as a core growth engine driving business and service innovation.
Modernizing Core Business Systems and Strengthening Customized Customer Service
First, through the “Next IT Platform,” the company will gradually modernize core business platforms such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Business Support Systems (BSS), and Operations Support Systems (OSS). In this process, it will simultaneously implement Process Innovation (PI) to maximize processing efficiency.
Furthermore, AI will be deeply integrated into key customer-facing services—such as authentication and payment—as well as data utilization systems. Through this, the company plans to provide sophisticated, personalized services to individual customers via online channels like “KTCorporation.com” and “MyKTCorporation,” while securing the agility needed to proactively respond to market changes.
In the “Next IT Infra” domain, the company will build next-generation IT infrastructure that maximizes stability and security.
KTCorporation will combine its next-generation internal cloud, “Next IPC (Internal Private Cloud),” with a multi- and hybrid-cloud architecture to enable flexible allocation of IT resources. In particular, the company will proactively migrate key hardware and software systems whose End of Support (EoS) is imminent or has already been reached, thereby eliminating security risks at their source. The company will also further strengthen its backup and disaster recovery (DR) systems to ensure service continuity even in the event of a failure.
Applying AI from Planning to Operations… Innovating Work Productivity with
‘AID-X’
“Next IT Works” focuses on revolutionizing work processes by applying AI across the entire IT lifecycle.
The company will introduce ‘AID-X (AI-Driven Everything)’, which expands the existing AI-based development framework ‘AIDD’ to encompass all IT operations, including planning, design, development, testing, and operations. KT plans to build an AX integration platform so that AI can establish itself as a core business tool rather than merely a support function, and to establish proven AI utilization methods as group-wide standards.
KTCorporation plans to expand the technology and operational know-how accumulated during this internal IT modernization process into an AX transformation support business targeting corporate customers (B2B). This decision is based on the assessment that tangible business results can only be achieved when IT platforms, cloud infrastructure, and information security capabilities—all of which reliably support the performance of AI models—are in place simultaneously.
Ok Kyung-hwa, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of KTCorporation’s IT Division, stated, “Next IT is a strategy that takes the IT modernization KTCorporation has been continuously pursuing to the next level in the AI era,” adding, “We will enhance the stability and security of our core platforms and infrastructure and apply AI across the entire development and operations process to improve customer service quality and operational productivity.” She continued, “We will expand the technology and operational capabilities accumulated through our internal IT innovation process into customer service innovation and new AX businesses to enhance the execution of our ‘AX Platform Company’ strategy.”
