[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] #JUNJIN C&R, a global top-tier CPC specialist under the MOTREX CO.,LTD, announced on the 26th that it has completed field testing of its self-developed concrete distribution robot, the D-MCR (Distribution Mobile Concrete Robot). This field demonstration took place from July 15 to August 25 at the Korea Construction Machinery Research Institute’s Test, Evaluation, and Certification Center in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province. The company verified the D-MCR’s core functions, including remote operation, autonomous operation, workspace mapping, obstacle detection, and safety control, and plans to incorporate the results into the development of a mass-production model and further performance enhancements. In particular, this demonstration went beyond simple individual function testing to focus on verifying whether key functions—required for the movement and operations involved in concrete distribution—could be reliably implemented in a real-world work environment. The D-MCR is a construction robot developed to automate concrete distribution tasks at plants and large construction sites; it is designed to replace repetitive and high-risk processes, thereby simultaneously enhancing productivity and workplace safety. Recently, the construction industry has seen growing interest in automation and unmanned operations at construction sites, driven by simultaneous increases in labor shortages, an aging workforce, stricter industrial safety regulations, and demands for improved productivity. Consequently, demand is expected to gradually expand for construction robots that go beyond simple equipment mechanization to assist workers or directly perform repetitive tasks. JUNJIN C&R is pursuing the development of various construction robots, including automated concrete placement equipment, as well as modular distributors, screeds, and finishers. Moving forward, the company plans to enhance product performance and expand on-site applications, while strengthening its competitiveness in the smart construction solutions business through joint development with consortia, including MOTREX CO.,LTD. An official from JUNJIN C&R stated, “Having verified the technical maturity of the D-MCR through this demonstration, we plan to further accelerate its application at actual construction sites and its commercialization,” adding, “We will grow into a leading construction robotics company in the smart construction market.”
