DMS announced on the 28th that it has appointed Jeong Su-hwa, former Vice President of the LGELECTRONICS Production Technology Institute, and Lee Sang-jin, former CEO of Viol, as its new co-CEOs.
CEO Jeong Su-hwa joined LGELECTRONICS in 1992 and has accumulated over 30 years of experience in the fields of production, process, and equipment technology. From 2018 to 2024, he served as head of the Equipment Technology Center at LGELECTRONICS’ Production Technology Institute, and from 2025 until March of this year, he served as head of the Advanced Process Research Center at the same institute.
At DMS, CEO Jeong will be responsible for strengthening core technological competitiveness and identifying new business opportunities. He plans to expand the company’s existing display equipment technology into adjacent industries, such as semiconductors, and establish a system that spans from the discovery of new equipment through technical validation, mass production, and commercialization.
CEO Lee Sang-jin joined DMS in 2001 and served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for approximately 18 years until 2019, overseeing all aspects of finance and management. He subsequently served as CEO of Viol from 2019 until this year.
Under CEO Lee’s leadership, Viol’s revenue grew from 11.1 billion won and operating profit of 3.8 billion won in 2019 to 60.1 billion won and 28.6 billion won, respectively, in 2025. DMS intends to leverage CEO Lee’s experience at Viol—where he enhanced profitability by strengthening product competitiveness based on technological capabilities and expanding into overseas markets—to commercialize new businesses and increase corporate value.
Under the co-CEO system, CEO Jeong will oversee technological advancement and the identification of new equipment and business opportunities, while CEO Lee will be responsible for market feasibility verification, commercialization strategies, profitability, and financial management. The company plans to strengthen the structure that translates technological development achievements into actual sales and profits.
DMS plans to accelerate the launch of new businesses by combining CEO Jeong’s expertise in production, processes, and equipment with CEO Lee’s experience in product portfolio management and global business expansion. The company aims to diversify its business portfolio by strengthening the competitiveness of its existing display equipment business while simultaneously identifying new business opportunities in growth sectors such as semiconductors.
