[E-Daily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] LGELECTRONICS has unveiled an energy-self-sufficient residential solution that combines artificial intelligence (AI) home appliances, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and energy technologies.
LGELECTRONICS announced on the 14th that it introduced the structure and key technologies of the Smart Cottage to Kim Seong-hwan, Minister of Climate, Energy, and Environment, during his visit to the “LG Smart Cottage Village” in Jincheon County, North Chungcheong Province. Baek Seung-tae, Executive Vice President and Head of the HS Business Division at LGELECTRONICS, and Jo Yeon-woo, CEO of LG Smart Cottage, were among those present at the site.
This visit was organized to explore the potential applications of energy-self-sufficient housing models in conjunction with the Korean Green Transformation (K-GX) strategy.
The LG Smart Cottage is a modular home that integrates heat pumps, AI-enabled appliances, a Home Energy Management System (HEMS), an Energy Storage System (ESS), and solar power generation into a single platform. It is designed to manage energy consumption by integrating appliances, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems into the living space.
LGELECTRONICS’ heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technology is standard in the Smart Cottage. Energy-generation equipment, such as solar panels, can be added as optional features. This enables the efficient management of energy used in the home while creating a living environment that balances energy production and consumption.
On this day, LGELECTRONICS demonstrated the home appliances and HVAC systems installed inside the Smart Cottage and introduced how the various systems work together to manage energy usage.
