[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] Korea Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of KOREA INVESTMENT HOLDINGS(071050), announced on the 1st that it will hold an “After-Market Lucky Time Event” for BanKIS customers ahead of the launch of the Korea Exchange (KRX) domestic stock after-market. Running through the 30th, this event provides 2,000 won in investment support funds—usable during domestic stock after-market trading hours (4:00 PM to 8:00 PM)—to the first 3,000 participants each day on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants can receive the funds multiple times per day during the event period, and any unused funds from a given day will be automatically reclaimed the following day. Additional prizes will also be awarded based on the number of times a customer participates. Among customers who receive the investment subsidy and participate in after-market trading, a random drawing will be held to award 100 participants who have participated 10 or more times with a chicken gift certificate worth 25,000 won; 200 participants who have participated 5 or more times with a 10,000-won Baemin gift certificate; and 300 participants who have participated fewer than 5 times with a coffee coupon worth 1,500 won. Details on how to participate in the event and other information can be found on the Korea Investment & Securities website and the “Korea Investment” mobile app. Meanwhile, the KRX Aftermarket, set to launch on September 14, is a market where domestic stocks can be traded after the regular market closes, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. While trading was previously limited to a small number of stocks through the existing NXT Aftermarket, the introduction of the KRX Aftermarket will enable trading of all stocks except those under market supervision. In particular, convenience for working professionals is expected to improve significantly, and investors will be able to respond in real time to disclosures and market issues after the market closes. In fact, according to Korea Investment & Securities, the 30s to 50s age group accounted for 73% of the total trading volume on the existing NXT Aftermarket, indicating robust after-market investment demand centered on working professionals. An official from Korea Investment & Securities stated, “With the launch of the KRX After-Hours Market, domestic stock trading in the evening will naturally transition into overnight trading of foreign stocks, which will also help investors formulate global asset allocation strategies.” The official added, “We hope that through this pre-launch event, more customers will experience the expansion of the domestic trading market and enjoy a variety of benefits.”
