Acryl Inc. Secures Successive Contracts for National Medical AI Projects… to Build ‘Cancer AX’ Platform

[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] #Acryl Inc., an artificial intelligence (AI) company, has secured a series of national medical AI research and development (R&D) and pilot projects in the fields of brain tumors, pancreatic cancer, and lung cancer, and is now moving forward with the development of the “Cancer AX” platform, which covers the entire cancer care cycle.

Acryl Inc. announced on the 4th that it will participate in multimodal AI research and development and clinical validation projects in the field of cancer alongside major domestic medical institutions, including Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, and Korea University Anam Hospital.

The core objective of these projects is to use AI to connect medical data—such as medical images, pathology, genomics, test results, and clinical records—that is currently dispersed across hospitals, thereby supporting the entire cancer care continuum from screening to diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and recurrence management. Through this initiative, Acryl Inc. plans to develop a cancer-specific foundation model, software-as-a-medical-device (SaMD) for early diagnosis and recurrence prediction, and agentic AI to support medical professionals’ decision-making and patient management.

In the field of brain tumors, Acryl is collaborating with Korea University Anam Hospital to develop a multimodal foundation model that integrates and analyzes medical imaging, clinical, and pathology data. Based on this, the company aims to predict patient survival and recurrence risks and plans to expand its application to other brain diseases in the future.

In the field of pancreatic cancer, the company will participate in the “OnKoTECT” consortium led by Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. It plans to develop SaMD for early screening, diagnosis, and post-surgical recurrence prediction using imaging, genomic, pathological, and clinical data, and to pursue clinical implementation and regulatory approval.

In the field of lung cancer, the company is collaborating with Seoul National University Hospital to develop an agentic AI-based cancer patient management service that supports clinical decision-making by integrating and analyzing diagnostic, testing, and treatment information. The goal is to assist in determining treatment plans and to manage post-treatment symptoms, prognosis, and the risk of recurrence. Through pilot studies with regional medical institutions, such as Gangwon National University Hospital, the company also plans to establish a cancer management model that connects tertiary general hospitals, regional hospitals, and patients.

Acryl Inc.’s strategy is to integrate the technologies developed in each business area into the “Cancer AX Platform.” Based on the medical data platform “NADIA-ANE” and the healthcare-specific AI “ALLM.H,” the platform will link electronic medical records (EMR), test results, imaging, pathology, and genomic data, while combining AI models specific to each cancer type with AI agents.

Going forward, the company plans to broaden its scope from brain tumors, pancreatic cancer, and lung cancer to other cancer types and expand into AI-based screening and health management services linked to the national cancer screening program. It also intends to expand its business scope into the pharmaceutical and biotech new drug development sectors, including biomarker discovery, clinical trial subject selection, treatment response analysis, and real-world data (RWD) analysis.

Park Oe-jin, CEO of Acryl Inc., stated, “Although the recently secured projects target different diseases—brain tumors, pancreatic cancer, and lung cancer—the ultimate goal is the same.” He added, “Acryl Inc.’s unique value lies in not stopping at the development of individual AI models, but in building the Cancer AX platform, which connects the patient’s entire journey—from screening to diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis management—using AI.”

He added, “Through research, development, and pilot projects with major domestic medical institutions, we will secure AI services that can be utilized in actual clinical settings. We will then expand these services to various cancer types, national cancer screening programs, and the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, growing into a platform company that leads the healthcare AX market.”
