[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] Park Jeong-min, the new CEO of KT Alpha and former CEO of SK Stoa, has joined a social campaign to eradicate illegal gambling among minors.
KTCorporation announced that CEO Park Jeong-min participated in the “Relay Campaign to Eradicate Illegal Gambling Among Minors,” organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
CEO Park joined the campaign upon the recommendation of Kwon Jin-mi, CEO of Home&Shopping. He nominated Kim Ho-sang, CEO of KTCorporation ENA, as the next participant.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is spearheading this campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of illegal online gambling spreading among youth and to heighten social vigilance. The campaign proceeds by having participants post a photo holding a message calling for the eradication of illegal gambling and then nominating the next participant.

CEO Park stated, “Illegal gambling among youth is a serious problem that threatens our children’s future,” adding, “All members of society must take an interest and work together to prevent it.”
CEO Park took office as CEO of KT Alpha in March of this year. He is a professional manager who gained experience in commerce and platform businesses after joining SKTelecom as a researcher and subsequently working at SK Planet and SK M&Service. Starting in 2023, he served as CEO of SK Stoa, where he competed directly against KT Alpha.
KT Alpha’s decision to appoint a CEO from a competitor rather than from within the KTCorporation also drew industry attention. This move is part of a strategy to break through the growth stagnation in the TV-based commerce market and transform the company into a “commerce tech” firm by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies.
After taking office, CEO Park unveiled “SHIFT 2026” as a new growth strategy and presented “Connected Commerce” as the company’s vision. The plan is to enhance the product competitiveness of KT Alpha Shopping while strengthening T-commerce’s competitiveness by introducing AI-powered personalized recommendations, analysis of broadcast and inventory data, and Agent AI.
KT Alpha, a commerce subsidiary of the KTCorporation, operates the data-driven home shopping service “KT Alpha Shopping” as well as the mobile gift certificate services “Giftyshow” and “Giftyshow Biz.” The company plans to link the KTCorporation’s customer and platform assets—including KT Membership, Genie TV, and K-Deal—to its commerce business, while also expanding mutually beneficial partnerships with its collaborators.
