[Edaily Reporter Kim Min-jung ] Samsung Electronics’ official account has sparked a buzz by leaving a comment on a photo of BLACKPINK’s Rosé holding an Apple product. This is part of a collaboration campaign with Apple for her new song “New Trick,” set to be released on the 18th; the music video was also filmed entirely with the iPhone 18 Pro.
This special collaboration gained even more traction on the 12th when an unexpected “guest” made an appearance: Samsung Electronics Canada’s official Instagram account left a witty comment directly on Rosé’s post.
Samsung commented, “If you really needed a phone, why didn’t you just ask us?” It was a playful jab at Rosé for promoting a competitor’s new product.
The comment garnered even more attention due to Rosé’s past connection with Samsung Electronics.
BLACKPINK served as global brand ambassadors for Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy A series in 2019. At the time, they participated in global promotional campaigns for devices such as the Galaxy A70 and A80.
Now that Rosé—who once endorsed Galaxy models—has teamed up with Apple, Samsung’s official account has stepped in to respond directly.
The comment received over 180,000 “likes.” Global fans reacted with comments such as, “A clever meme between brands,” and “Samsung’s comment has made the collaboration between iPhone and Rosé even more of a hot topic.”
