[Edaily Reporter Kim Ji-woo ] Shin Sang-yeol (33), a third-generation heir and vice president of Nongshim, tied the knot on the 13th with Ms. Moon, an employee of SK Telecom. The bride is reportedly the daughter of writer Moon Yu-seok, a former judge.

[Edaily Reporter Noh Jin-hwan] Shin Sang-yeol, a third-generation heir to the Nongshim Group and Executive Vice President, is seen entering the Dynasty Hall at the Seoul Shilla Hotel on the 13th for his scheduled wedding ceremony. To his right is the bride-to-be, who is reportedly an employee working in SK Telecom’s Artificial Intelligence Transformation (AX) division.

Vice President Shin held his wedding ceremony with his bride, Ms. Moon, at 6 p.m. that day in the Dynasty Hall of the Seoul Shilla Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul. Born in 1993, Vice President Shin is the grandson of the late Shin Chun-ho, the founder of Nongshim, and the eldest son of Shin Dong-won, Chairman of Nongshim.

The name of the bride’s father, as confirmed at the scene, was Moon Yu-seok. Former Judge Moon is a screenwriter who penned the dramas “Pro Bono,” “Miss Hammurabi,” and “Devil Judge.” The bride is reportedly employed in a department related to SK Telecom’s Artificial Intelligence Transformation (AX). A Nongshim spokesperson stated, “As this is a personal matter, we do not know the specific details.”

Starting after 5:00 p.m., family members from both sides, acquaintances, and business leaders began arriving. Shin Jun-ho, Chairman of Purmil and younger brother of founder Shin Chun-ho, attended, while Shin Yun-kyung, the founder’s second daughter, arrived at the venue with her husband, Seo Kyung-bae, Chairman of Amorepacific Group. Chairman Seo is Shin Sang-yeol’s uncle-in-law. On this day, Chairman Seo signed the guestbook using his name in Hanja.

Although security was not overly tight, a procedure to verify invitations was conducted before guests entered the ceremony hall. All guests, including Executive Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan, showed their mobile invitations to ushers before ascending the stairs leading to the Dynasty Hall.

Prior to the ceremony, Vice President Shin and his bride arrived at the hotel around 3:45 p.m. From the lobby entrance, Vice President Shin held his bride’s hand and walked slowly, matching her pace. As they walked, he kept glancing at his bride and smiling.

The couple, who entered without any noticeable security detail, posed for pre-ceremony photos and videos on the stairs. Vice President Shin supported his bride even as they climbed the stairs. When a reporter asked him for his thoughts on the wedding, he smiled and replied, “Thank you.”

After graduating from Columbia University in the U.S., Vice President Shin joined Nongshim’s Business Planning Team as an employee in March 2019. He was promoted to Senior Manager of the Purchasing Division in late 2021, becoming Nongshim’s first executive in his 20s. He took charge of the Future Business Division, which was newly established in 2024, and was promoted to Executive Vice President at the end of that same year.

Following his promotion to Vice President in January of this year, he was elected as an inside director at the annual shareholders’ meeting last March and joined the board of directors. He is currently involved in securing future growth engines for Nongshim, including identifying new business opportunities, global business strategy, and investments and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
