[Edaily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] SamsungElectronics(005930)is accelerating the expansion of its certified pre-owned smartphone business. The company has begun offering even its latest flagship “Galaxy S26” series—which was released just six months ago—as certified pre-owned devices in the global market.

According to the mobile industry on the 14th, SamsungElectronics is set to begin selling certified pre-owned Galaxy S26 series phones in South Korea. The Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra have all been listed on Samsung.com, and shipments are scheduled to begin sequentially starting on the 15th.

Prices for the 256GB models are 1,064,800 won for the S26, 1,233,100 won for the S26+, and 1,527,900 won for the S26 Ultra.

Sales have already begun overseas. On the 9th, SamsungElectronics began selling the Galaxy S26 series as “Samsung Certified Pre-Owned (CRN)” devices in major European countries, including the UK and Germany. All three models—the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra—are available for sale in the UK and Germany.

In India, sales of certified pre-owned Galaxy S26 and S26 Ultra models also began on the 10th.

The warranty period varies by country. In South Korea and major European countries, a two-year manufacturer’s warranty—the same as for new products—is provided, while in India, a one-year warranty is offered.

The Galaxy S26 series was launched last March in South Korea and other major countries worldwide. This means that the current-generation flagship has appeared as an officially certified pre-owned Samsung device just about six months after its launch.

Until now, SamsungElectronics often waited more than a year after the launch of a Galaxy S series model before selling it as a certified pre-owned device. In the U.S., models from the S22 to the S24 were added to the certified pre-owned lineup approximately 14 to 15 months after their launch.

In South Korea as well, the company first began selling certified pre-owned phones starting with the S24 series in March of last year—about 14 months after the S24’s launch. The S26 has been added to the lineup more than half as fast as that.

SamsungElectronics’ certified pre-owned phones are devices that have been returned after online purchase—often due to simple buyer’s remorse—and are then remanufactured and resold after passing the company’s own quality inspections. Genuine parts are used during the refurbishment process, and the same quality standards as new products are applied.

The company is also rapidly expanding the sales regions for its certified pre-owned phone business. Following the U.S. and South Korea, SamsungElectronics expanded its CRN program to the U.K., France, and Germany in January of this year.

Kim Jun, Head of the Galaxy Value Innovation Team at SamsungElectronics’ MX Business Division, stated in a Newsroom post at the time, “We hope to broaden consumers’ options for purchasing flagship products while contributing to the circular economy and enabling more customers to experience the latest innovations, including Galaxy AI.”
