The Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage points, from the previous range of 3.50–3.75% to 3.75–4.00%. The dot plot indicated the possibility of one additional rate hike this year. As Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh expressed caution regarding inflation, concerns about prolonged high interest rates also grew.
