[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] “Please pick out only camping meal kits that I can receive by tomorrow.”

On Naver (NAVER(035420)) Shopping, users can now make such requests to the AI. It goes beyond simply recommending products; it considers the delivery address, order cutoff time, and actual estimated arrival date to select items that can be received by the desired time.

On the 17th, Naver announced that it had enhanced the delivery-focused feature of the “Agent AI” in the Naver Shopping app.

If a user asks, “Recommend a hot pot meal kit that will arrive by tomorrow,” the AI Shopping Agent filters products that can actually be delivered based on the specified delivery address. It provides the estimated delivery date for each item, along with information on the order cutoff time—for example, “If you order by 10 p.m. tonight, you can receive it early tomorrow morning.”

From “What should I buy?” to “When
will
I receive
it?” This enhancement utilizes delivery not merely as product information but as a recommendation criterion for the AI.

For example, if you say, “It’s suddenly gotten cold in the mornings and evenings—please recommend an electric blanket,” the app suggests product categories such as electric blankets and heated mats, narrowing down the options to focus on items that can be delivered quickly.

This approach analyzes the user’s shopping purpose, urgency, and delivery conditions together to reduce the time spent searching for and comparing products.

AI-powered product recommendations and delivery information aren’t unique to Naver. Major shopping platforms like Coupang and Kurly are also enhancing AI-driven product search and comparison features, and they already offer functions that display delivery speeds and estimated arrival dates.

However, with this update, Naver has taken the system to the next level by linking delivery conditions specified by users in natural language to real-time delivery information and incorporating them into product recommendations. By narrowing down options based on both the time of purchase and the delivery time—such as “products arriving by tomorrow”—Naver has taken a lead in the Agent AI shopping competition.

AI Shopping Agent Transaction Volume Up 82%
Users’ adoption of AI shopping is also on the rise.

According to Naver, as of September, the number of conversations via the AI shopping agent had increased by approximately 60% compared to June, when it was officially launched. Transaction volume rose by 82% over the same period.

Naver plans to continue enhancing its ability to recommend products that match users’ purchase criteria by combining shopping data—such as product specifications, real-time delivery information, and review data—with AI.

Lee Jeong-tae, Head of Shopping Search and AI at Naver, said, “The AI Shopping Agent is evolving into a shopping-specific agent that handles the complex conditions and context-based searches users encounter during the shopping process.” He added, “By combining real-time shopping data with personalized recommendation technology, we will support purchasing decisions that are optimized for users’ intentions and contexts.”
