[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] Naver (NAVER(035420)) is successively applying artificial intelligence (AI) to services closely tied to daily life, such as secondhand trading, pet care, and finance. By integrating Naver’s data and AI technology into areas where users previously had to search for and compare information on their own, the company is helping users with price determination, information verification, and financial product comparisons.

In the secondhand marketplace, the service analyzes product condition and prices of similar items to provide market price estimates; in pet care services, it allows users to consolidate and manage veterinary visit histories in one place; and in finance, it enables users to compare business owner loan products from three online-only banks all at once.

How much should I sell my used item for?… AI Market Price Recommendations
Naver rolled out the “AI
Market Price Recommendations
” feature on its
secondhand marketplace
service, “Flea Market,” starting on the 17th.

Flea Market is a secondhand trading platform operated by Naver that allows individuals to buy and sell used items. Its secure transaction feature enables sellers and buyers to trade more conveniently.

When a seller lists an item and selects its condition—ranging from “New” to “Heavily Used”—the AI analyzes price data for identical or similar items posted on Naver Flea Market and Naver Cafés to display a price range. It also reflects price differences based on the item’s condition.

This feature is currently available in the Sports & Leisure and Digital & Home Appliances categories, with plans to expand it to all categories. Starting on the 30th, AI-generated market price information will also be provided on the product detail screen, allowing buyers to compare the asking price with current market prices.

AI has also been integrated into the product listing process. Since the 2nd, the platform has been linked with “Smart Lens,” an image search feature; when a seller uploads a product photo, the system automatically fills in the product name, brand, and category by comparing the image with Naver Shopping data. It also provides a product description that reflects the item’s condition and specifications.

According to Naver, from September 6 to 12—following the introduction of Smart Lens—the number of Safe Transaction product listings increased by an average of 20% per day compared to August 23–29, before the feature was launched. Listings for fashion apparel rose by 38%, and those for maternity and childcare products increased by 40.5%.

“When did my dog last go to the vet?”… Three years of medical history at a glance
Naver has added AI-based features to the veterinary clinic section of “Naver Places,” a service that allows users to search for information on restaurants, hospitals, and stores, as well as make reservations and read reviews.

“Pet Notebook,” which launched in beta on the 18th, is a service that consolidates a pet’s veterinary visit history in one place.

Users can view the dates of visits to veterinary clinics over the past three years, along with clinic names, whether the visit was for treatment or vaccinations, and diagnosis details, all in chronological order. If a user has multiple pets, they can view the medical records separately for each animal.

If the clinic was booked through Naver Reservations, users can view booking details and reviews or make a new appointment.

It also offers an AI-powered feature that summarizes medical information. The AI from Intu CNS, a company specializing in electronic medical records (EMR) for veterinary clinics, analyzes medical records to summarize key care information such as the pet’s condition, medication, and home care.

Naver plans to first integrate with veterinary clinics using Into CNS’s EMR system and then expand integration to clinics using other EMR solutions.

Compare Loans for Sole Proprietors from Three Internet Banks at a Glance
In the financial sector, Naver Pay (Npay) has expanded its loan comparison offerings.

On the 17th, Npay added KakaoBank Corp.’s credit loan products for sole proprietors to its “Npay Loan Comparison” service. As a result, users can now compare credit loan products for sole proprietors from all three internet-only banks—KakaoBank Corp., Kbank, and Toss Bank—at a glance.

As of September 17, the lowest interest rate for KakaoBank Corp.’s product is 3.426%, and the maximum loan limit is 300 million won.

Npay Loan Comparison allows users to compare interest rates and loan limits for credit loans, mortgage loans, and jeonse loans across different financial institutions. Currently, there are 17 partnered primary financial institutions.

Naver Pay is also expanding the use of its proprietary alternative credit scoring model, “Npay Score.” This method evaluates creditworthiness using not only financial data but also non-financial data such as orders, payments, and sales.

Currently, about 30 financial institutions are using Npay Score to offer preferential terms—such as lower interest rates or higher loan limits—to users of the Npay Loan Comparison service.

Last August, Naver Pay was designated as an authorized agent for credit loan screening services based on non-financial data for Kbank and Welcome Savings Bank. Building on this, the company plans to launch dedicated products within the year that directly utilize the Npay Score in the loan screening process.
