[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Kakao(035720)is launching its first integrated membership program, which bundles major services such as emojis, TalkCloud, gifting, Melon, kakaopay, and securities into a single package. The plan is to move away from the previous structure where users accessed various Kakao services separately and instead provide subscription, shopping, financial, and content benefits all within a single membership.

Kakao announced on the 21st that it has begun accepting sign-ups for launch notifications ahead of the soft launch of “Kakao Membership.”

Kakao Membership is an integrated membership program that links Kakao’s various services, including emoticons, TalkCloud, Gifting, Melon, kakaopay, and Kakao Securities. This marks the first time Kakao has bundled multiple services into a single membership program.

It will bundle existing paid service benefits with new perks, including welcome benefits for new subscribers and additional reward points for the “Gift” feature.

Kakao will soft-launch Kakao Membership on October 1. Initially, to ensure service stability, sign-ups will be on a first-come, first-served basis for a small group of users, with plans to gradually expand eligibility thereafter.

Kakao Membership focuses on integrating benefits across the entire range of Kakao services—including subscriptions, content, shopping, and finance—into a single package.

Instead of using each service separately, users will be able to access content and subscription services—such as emoticons, TalkCloud, and Melon—as well as benefits related to gifting, KakaoPay, and securities, all through a single membership.

However, specific subscription fees, detailed benefits for each service, and eligibility requirements are scheduled to be announced on October 1, the day of the soft launch.

Starting today, Kakao will send soft launch notifications to users who have added the “Kakao Membership” KakaoTalk channel as a friend.

On October 1, the channel will send a soft launch notification message along with a link to sign up.

The Kakao Membership channel can be found on the soft launch notification sign-up page under the “Kakao Now” banner in the “More” tab of KakaoTalk. Users can also search for “Kakao Membership” in the KakaoTalk friend search and add it directly.
