The company is expected to join the competition in obesity drug development by presenting research findings on the new candidate for the first time at a global academic conference specializing in obesity.

Onconic Therapeutics Inc. announced on the 28th that it will deliver an oral presentation on research findings related to a new drug candidate at “ObesityWeek 2026,” to be held in Washington, D.C., this November. The study has been accepted as a “Late-Breaking Abstract” for the conference.

ObesityWeek is a global academic conference on obesity hosted by the The Obesity Society (TOS). For its “Late-Breaking Abstract” selection process, ObesityWeek comprehensively evaluates academic significance, novelty of the research, methodology, research methods, results, and conclusions. Onconic Therapeutics Inc. emphasizes the significance of this research not only being accepted as an abstract but also being selected for an oral presentation.

Onconic Therapeutics Inc. has not yet disclosed the pipeline name, specific research details, or results of this new candidate compound, in accordance with the conference’s embargo policy. The company plans to release the details sequentially in line with the conference schedule.

The spokesperson continued, “As we are delivering our first research findings as an oral presentation at a leading global academic forum in a field where R&D and investment are intensifying worldwide, we plan to use this presentation as a starting point to sequentially disclose specific research results and develop this into a global new drug.”
