[Edaily Reporter KIM JI-WAN ] SCL Science(246960)is pursuing entry into the Thai market with its absorbable hemostatic agent, InnoSEAL Plus DL.

SCL Science announced on the 28th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Thai medical device company Meditop Co., Ltd. for the local approval and distribution of InnoSEAL Plus DL.

This collaboration was facilitated by the company’s participation in the “Thailand Market Development Mission for Entry into the UN Healthcare Procurement Market,” held in Bangkok, Thailand, from the 14th to the 18th. The market development mission is a program organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute and the Public Procurement Service to support domestic healthcare companies in entering overseas procurement markets and expanding exports.

During the event, SCL Science held business meetings with local Thai medical device companies to discuss the features of InnoSeal Plus DL and its potential in the local market. Through this process, the two companies finalized plans for cooperation on regulatory approvals and sales, leading to the signing of the MOU on the 15th.

The two companies plan to collaborate on obtaining Thai medical device approvals and establishing a local distribution network. SCL Science will provide product-related technical documentation and information necessary for regulatory approval, while Meditop will support the development of local registration and distribution strategies based on its expertise in Thailand’s medical device regulations and market experience.

However, this agreement represents a collaborative phase preceding a formal contract; the actual scale of product supply and specific business terms will be determined through future discussions between the two companies.

InnoSeal Plus DL is a Class 4 biodegradable medical device used to control bleeding during surgery. It features a dual-layer structure that combines a layer for hemostasis and tissue adhesion with a sealing layer that covers the surgical site. In South Korea, it has been approved for use in intra-abdominal soft tissue surgery.

Following the establishment of its domestic supply chain, SCL Science is accelerating its efforts to expand into overseas markets. The company plans to use this partnership in Thailand as a stepping stone for obtaining local regulatory approvals and expanding sales, thereby broadening the business foundation for InnoSeal Plus DL in overseas markets, including Southeast Asia.

An SCL Science official stated, “This agreement is significant because it goes beyond simply introducing the product; it secures a foundation for jointly pursuing Thai regulatory approval and distribution with a local company,” adding, “We will work with Meditop Inc. to proceed step-by-step with the procedures necessary for market entry.”

The representative added, “Following our domestic supply agreement, we will expand our regulatory approval and distribution partnerships with partners in various countries overseas to build a global business foundation for InnoSeal Plus DL.”
