[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] With only two episodes remaining until the finale of “Four Hands,” attention is focused on how the story of Song Kang and Lee Jun-young will unfold.
On the 2nd, the production team of tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama “Four Hands” highlighted the key points to watch in the finale, where the stories of Kang Bi-o (played by Song Kang) and Choi Jeong-yo (played by Lee Jun-young) will unfold.
The first is the conclusion of the revenge Choi Jeong-yo has been planning for a long time. Nine years ago, on the day of the international competition finals, Choi Jeong-yo was kidnapped at someone’s behest, sustaining a gunshot wound to the shoulder that left him unable to play the piano again due to the aftereffects. Although he has since transitioned to a career as a conductor to continue his musical journey, the kidnapping incident remains a deep scar in his life.
While investigating the incident on his own, Choi Jeong-yo confirmed that Kang Bi-o and his mother, Kang Ji-hye (played by Yoon Se-ah), were behind the kidnapping and has been seeking revenge in his own way. He offered Kang Bi-o the soloist role in “Nemesis,” a piano concerto he composed himself that captures his memories of the kidnapping, and pushed him relentlessly, forcing him to experience firsthand the fear and desperation Choi Jeong-yo had felt. Furthermore, when Kang Bi-o ultimately failed to express his inner emotions through his performance, Choi Jeong-yo fired him, breaking him down.
However, Choi Jeong-yo’s ultimate goal is to expose the truth behind the kidnapping nine years ago to the world and make Kang Bi-o and Kang Ji-hye pay the price. This is why anticipation is mounting for the final episode—to see when and how Choi Jeong-yo will make her final move.
Another point of interest is the transformation of Kang Bi-o, who has reached a new turning point in her career as a pianist. After her collaboration with Choi Jeong-yo was cut short, Kang Bi-o, faced with her own limitations, remained alone in her practice room, overwhelmed by deep frustration. Exhausted from crying, she fell asleep and suddenly found herself face-to-face with her grandfather, Kang Seung-un (played by Jeong Jin-young), who was watching her. The two then shared a heartfelt conversation about the piano. When Kang Bi-o confessed that she loved the piano so much she would want to play it even if she had only one day left to live, Kang Seung-woon advised her to pour that earnest passion and a lifetime of love for music into her melody. He then offered her a new direction, encouraging her to play with her own rhythm and emotions rather than being bound by predefined structures.
Having finally found the answer in Kang Seung-woon’s words, Kang Biao sought out Choi Jeong-yo and expressed her strong determination to perform a duet, asking for a chance. Curiosity is mounting as to what changes lie behind Kang Biao’s confidence—as she declares she will once again take the stage as the soloist for “Nemesis”—and whether her transformed performance will be enough to win over Choi Jeong-yo.
“Four Hands” is a drama depicting the friendship, love, competition, and growth of young people who meet at an arts high school populated exclusively by musical prodigies. It has garnered attention thanks to the performances of actors Song Kang and Lee Jun-young. The series is currently airing to great popularity, having recorded a nationwide household viewership rating of 7.9% (provided by Nielsen Korea) in its eighth episode, and attention is now focused on whether it will break this record in its remaining two episodes.
Episode 11 and the series finale of “Four Hands” will air on the 3rd at 9:30 p.m. and on the 4th at 9:10 p.m., respectively.
