Lee Soo-young said, “Before the Chuseok holiday, my child suddenly fell ill and was diagnosed with ‘acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia’ during a hospital examination, leading to hospitalization,” adding, “Treatment has now begun, and my child is holding up well.” As the treatment is expected to be lengthy, she has decided to stay by her child’s side for the time being. She explained, “The expected treatment period is long, and since the initial phase involves intensive chemotherapy, I cannot take my eyes off my child for even a moment.” She continued, “As a mother, I believe this is the time I must be there to support my child through this difficult treatment process—it was a difficult decision to make,” adding, “I would be grateful if you could pray for my child. I look forward to the day when I can greet you all again in good health.” Lee Soo-young has been the DJ of “Let’s Meet at 12” since 2017, connecting with listeners for about nine years. She has decided to step away from the microphone temporarily to focus on her child’s treatment.
