[E-Daily Reporter Ham Ji-Hyun ] DaewooEngineering&Construction(047040)announced on the 8th that it has implemented a company-wide organizational restructuring and executive appointments to ensure sustained growth and strengthen future competitiveness.

According to DaewooEngineering&Construction, this organizational restructuring focuses on strengthening competitiveness in strategic growth areas—such as data centers and urban renewal projects—while enhancing risk management capabilities for large-scale projects and elevating expertise in safety, quality, and technology. Through this, the company plans to actively identify strategic businesses that will drive sustained growth and streamline its management and support structures so they can focus on their core functions, thereby improving overall operational efficiency.

DaewooEngineering&Construction will expand the Urban Renewal Business Team, previously under the Architecture Business Division, into three teams: Urban Renewal Business Team 1, Urban Renewal Business Team 2, and the Urban Renewal Business Management Team. The company also plans to establish a new Data Center Business Team to cultivate it as a core growth engine for the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

Furthermore, the company will concentrate its capabilities on numerous mega-projects currently in preparation, such as the Gadeokdo New Airport, the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant in the Czech Republic, and the Papua New Guinea and Mozambique LNG projects. It will also proactively manage potential risks that may arise during the project lifecycle to ensure their successful execution. The Business Management Team within the Strategic Planning Division will be subdivided into the Architectural Business Management Team, the Civil Engineering Business Management Team, and the Plant Business Management Team to enhance risk management capabilities.

In the areas of safety and quality, the company is further strengthening its company-wide management system. To this end, it has established a new Safety and Quality Division, serving as a control tower to comprehensively manage safety and quality-related functions. The company plans to enhance site-centered quality management support and establish a company-wide monitoring system to improve its management capabilities for the proactive prevention of serious accidents and quality incidents.

Changes are also being made to the Research and Development (R&D) organization. DaewooEngineering&Construction is consolidating research organizations—which were previously dispersed across each business division—under the Technology Research Institute to pool technical support capabilities and strengthen technology development and support functions that can be practically applied on-site. Through this, the company plans to improve its responsiveness to technical issues on-site and continuously enhance its technological competitiveness.

DaewooEngineering&Construction explained that this year’s executive appointments were made based on individual competence, expertise, and performance, without consideration of seniority or regional background. The company plans to continue strengthening an organizational culture that prioritizes actual job performance and results over job titles or length of service, and to place talented individuals with expertise in their respective fields in the most appropriate positions.

A DaewooEngineering&Construction official stated, “This organizational restructuring and personnel reshuffle are intended to proactively respond to the rapidly changing construction industry environment and support the company’s sustained growth.” The official added, “Through the expansion of strategic businesses, proactive risk management for large-scale projects, strengthening safety and quality competitiveness, and expanding on-site technical support, we will lay the foundation for sustainable growth and emerge as a company trusted by both our employees and customers.”
