The move is intended to shift away from a business structure centered on domestic pharmaceuticals, expand into the health and beauty sectors, and begin a full-scale push into global markets.

DongKook Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.(086450)announced on the 12th that it held a board of directors meeting and resolved to amend certain provisions of its articles of incorporation to change the company name to “DK Centellian Co., Ltd.”

DongKook Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd. plans to hold an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders at 9:00 a.m. on the 27th of next month at the DongKook Pharmaceutical Cheongdam Building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to propose the partial amendment to the articles of incorporation for the name change. The record date for voting rights is the 27th.

Founded in 1968, DongKook Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd. changed its name from UEC to DongKook Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd. in 1982. If this name change is finalized, it will mark the first time in 44 years that the company has changed its name from “DongKook Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.”

This name change is intended to expand the company’s business scope from its existing domestic pharmaceutical-focused operations to include not only treatment and prevention but also health and beauty, while strengthening its push into the global market. DongKook Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd. has presented “Science-based Health & Beauty” as its new corporate vision.

The new name “DK” embodies DongKook Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.’s 58-year history and scientific credibility, while “Centellian” reflects the company’s commitment to creating future-oriented value based on its accumulated expertise. “Centellian” is also the name used for DongKook Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.’s flagship cosmetics brand, “Centellian24.”
