[Edaily Reporter SOYEON KIM ] LG Corp. will begin holding business review meetings for all its affiliates starting on the 19th, a process expected to last about a month. These meetings provide an opportunity for LG Corp. Chairman Koo Kwang-mo to personally review each affiliate’s business performance for this year and its business strategies for next year.

In particular, he is expected to focus closely on the investment results and execution capabilities of future growth businesses centered on artificial intelligence (AI). This is drawing attention because the outcomes of these business review sessions could influence the year-end executive appointments and organizational restructuring to be announced next month.

Starting today, LG Corp. will hold business review meetings for all subsidiaries, presided over by Chairman Koo. CEOs and heads of business divisions from each subsidiary will attend to share this year’s business results and discuss business plans for 2027 as well as key management issues.

The business review sessions will run for about a month, starting with electronics affiliates such as LGELECTRONICS, LG Display, and LG Innotek, followed by chemical affiliates including LG Energy Solution and LGCHEM,LTD, and concluding with telecommunications and service affiliates such as LG Uplus and LG CNS.

The key topics of this year’s business review meetings are expected to be securing future growth engines centered on AI and enhancing the business portfolio. As the transition to AI accelerates across global industries, the focus is likely to be on reviewing the investment performance of each affiliate and devising concrete implementation strategies to maximize group-wide synergies.

At this year’s executive committee meetings, LG Corp. has been selecting key quarterly agendas and discussing measures to secure future business competitiveness. In March, the focus was on the execution of the AI transformation (AX); in June, on “Winning R&D”; and in September, on refining investment strategies. This business report meeting is expected to serve as an opportunity to link the strategies discussed thus far to each affiliate’s specific business plans and investment directions.

In particular, at last month’s executive committee meeting, Chairman Koo reviewed investment results and strategies in core AI areas such as AI Factory, Physical AI, and AX. At the time, Chairman Koo urged the executives, “To win in the future battlegrounds of AI, the executive committee must demonstrate swift action and relentless execution.”

The results of collaborations with global Big Tech companies, such as NVIDIA and Microsoft (MS), are also expected to be a key focus of the review. This year, LG Corp. has solidified its collaboration with NVIDIA in the areas of AI Factory, Physical AI, and mobility, and has also agreed to expand the scope of its collaboration with Microsoft to encompass the entire AI infrastructure.

At this business briefing, follow-up investments and implementation plans to translate these collaborative relationships into actual business results are expected to be discussed. The strategy is to maximize the “One LG Corp.” approach—which goes beyond individual affiliate-led business initiatives to consolidate the group’s technological and business capabilities—to deliver results in future key AI battlegrounds.

This business review meeting is also significant given that LG Corp. is approaching its year-end regular executive reshuffle and organizational restructuring. LG Corp. is expected to finalize the key executives who will lead the company next year through next month’s regular personnel reshuffle. The business performance of each affiliate and future business strategies discussed at this meeting are expected to serve as key reference points for determining the direction of future personnel decisions and organizational operations.

In particular, the results of AI investments and business execution are expected to be key evaluation criteria for the retention or replacement of CEOs and the appointment of business unit heads. Given that Chairman Koo has repeatedly emphasized speed and execution in the AI sector, observers suggest that management capabilities—not only in improving the profitability of existing businesses but also in generating tangible results in future growth businesses—will be heavily evaluated.
