SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS announced on the 19th that it participated in “World ADC San Diego 2026,” held in San Diego, California, from the 12th to the 15th (local time), to showcase the competitiveness of its ADC services. More than 400 companies and over 1,300 industry professionals from around the world attended the event to share ADC development strategies and research findings and discuss collaboration opportunities.
For the third consecutive year, SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS set up its own booth to highlight its end-to-end ADC service capabilities, encompassing contract research (CRO), contract development (CDO), and contract manufacturing (CMO). In particular, the company emphasized its ability to perform all ADC production processes within a single facility, leveraging its existing antibody drug manufacturing capabilities. A separate meeting room was also set up at the venue to conduct business discussions with clients.
SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS made a full-scale entry into the ADC CDMO market last March with the launch of a dedicated ADC production facility. The company plans to establish and operate a dedicated line for ADC finished dosage forms (DP) by next year to complete its end-to-end service capabilities.
The company also introduced ADC-related technologies through presentations and posters at the event. Mark Studer, Head of ADC and Messenger RNA (mRNA) Operations, delivered a presentation on the 14th titled “From New Drug Assets to Commercial Production: Key Success Factors for Scaling Up ADC Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Production.” He shared SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS’ plans to expand its biopharmaceutical conjugation services, as well as the company’s efforts and achievements in securing ADC commercial production capabilities.
Poster presentations showcased the company’s ADC-related CRO and CDO capabilities. Kim Ji-na, Head of the ADC Platform Discovery Group, introduced the company’s achievements in developing bispecific antibody ADCs using the “S-DUAL” bispecific antibody platform. Oh Se-kyu, a Professional in the Organoid Technology Group, revealed the results of ADC evaluations conducted using “Samsung Organoid,” a patient-derived organoid (PDO)-based drug screening service.
Lee Sang-myung, Senior Vice President in charge of CDO Development at SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS, stated, “Through World ADC, we demonstrated SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS’ CDMO capabilities, which allow us to flexibly and proactively meet our customers’ increasingly diverse needs—including ADCs, bispecific antibodies, and organoids—following our success with antibody drugs.” “Going forward, we will continue to expand our capabilities in new modalities, such as peptides, to further solidify our full-cycle capabilities and meet all of our customers’ needs,” he added.
