[Edaily Reporter Choi Hee-jae ] Actor Kim Myung-min announces his welcome return to the big screen with the film "Sad Tropics."

Set to open on the 25th of next month, the film “Sad Tropics” tells the story of members of the “Sad Tropics” assassin organization—who grew up like brothers under their mentor—as they vow bloody revenge amid mutual suspicion following their mentor’s death.

Kim Myung-min is set to portray the Master in the film, showcasing a powerful presence. The Master is a sage of the jungle and a figure of terror feared by all. As the absolute ruler of the Tropics, he is also the founder who took in abandoned children to create the assassin organization “Sad Tropics.”

In particular, “Sad Tropics” is drawing attention as Kim Myung-min’s return to the big screen after a seven-year hiatus. Having showcased a diverse range of genres and characters—from the dramas *The Immortal Yi Sun-sin*, *White Tower*, *Beethoven Virus*, *Six Flying Dragons*, and *Your Honor* to the films *My Love by My Side* and the *Joseon Detective* series—Kim Myung-min is set to transform his acting style once again in director Park Hoon-jung’s new film, *Sad Tropics*.

It is reported that he prepared thoroughly for this project, from his physical appearance to his action sequences. Not only did he undergo a physical transformation by dyeing his hair white, but he also delivered English lines infused with New Zealand and Australian accents, further enhancing the character’s mysterious and exotic aura. Furthermore, in line with Director Park Hoon-jung’s vision for “action that is as elegant and restrained as a dance,” Kim underwent training to perfect the movements of a master whose lethal prowess is concealed beneath a façade of grace.

Kim Myung-min shared his chemistry with Director Park, saying, “Working with Director Park Hoon-jung is always a pleasure. *Sad Tropics* is the culmination of all his expertise—a crystallization of everything he has poured into this film.”

Regarding his character, he added, “The Master is the jungle, and the jungle is the Master. He is a ruthless yet thoroughly rational character,” sparking curiosity.
