According to their agency, R.M.J., VIBY released Korean versions of “HANAMARU” and “Gotcha” on various music streaming sites at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th. The group re-recorded the two songs—which were first released in Japan—in Korean.
“HANAMARU” is a song for young people that offers encouragement to those living ordinary lives. When it was released in Japan last May, it reached No. 1 on Billboard Japan’s “Hitseekers Songs” chart. “Gotcha” is a dance-pop track featuring refreshing guitar sounds and an addictive melody.
BABY is the first boy group under the label Rii.MJ, founded by producer Kim Mi-jeong. In March, they released their pre-debut single “When I Fall in Love” in Japan and garnered attention for its music video directed by Shunji Iwai, director of the film “Love Letter.” The video has surpassed 10 million views on YouTube.
B.I.B., which officially debuted in Japan last June, reached No. 5 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart with its first physical single. Subsequently, on August 31—just 68 days after their debut—they held a showcase at Tokyo’s Budokan, setting the record for the fastest time a Japanese artist has performed at the venue, according to their agency.
Having previously met Korean fans through busking performances in Korea, Bibi plans to expand her activities in Korea, starting with the release of this Korean-language track.
