SK hynix has once again set a new record for quarterly earnings, following its performance in the second quarter. In particular, quarterly revenue surpassed 100 trillion won for the first time in the company’s history. Third-quarter operating profit alone already significantly exceeds last year’s full-year operating profit (47.2 trillion won). Cumulative revenue for the first three quarters of this year totaled 236.5105 trillion won, while cumulative operating profit reached 181.4867 trillion won.
Net income decreased compared to the previous quarter. Third-quarter net income was 39.7756 trillion won, a 215.7% increase year-over-year but a 57.7% decrease from the previous quarter.
These record results came amid rising demand for memory semiconductors driven by expanding global investment in AI infrastructure. With continued demand for AI server memory—including High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM)—and rising prices for general-purpose DRAM and NAND flash, memory semiconductor companies are breaking their all-time earnings records.
Meanwhile, SK hynix announced today that it will return 100 trillion won to shareholders this year. In addition to the 40 trillion won worth of treasury shares it has already repurchased, the company will acquire and cancel an additional 20 trillion won worth of treasury shares. It also decided to pay cash dividends totaling more than 30 trillion won. At 9:00 a.m., the company will hold a conference call to provide a detailed explanation of its third-quarter shareholder returns, financial results, and future business outlook.
