Seungri confirmed the marriage registration to the outlet, stating, “We are not currently considering a wedding ceremony.” Previously, on the 26th, Gray News reported that Seungri was set to become a father, noting that his partner is due to give birth in January of next year. The outlet reported that the couple has set up a new home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and plans to hold a wedding ceremony after the birth. However, the report did not mention whether they had officially registered their marriage. Seungri, who debuted as a member of Big Bang in 2006, left the group in 2019 in the wake of the so-called “Burning Sun scandal” and subsequently retired from the entertainment industry. He recently found himself embroiled in controversy after it was revealed he had been sued for allegedly assaulting another patron at a restaurant. The plaintiff claimed that in August, he was assaulted and threatened by Seungri and his companions at a restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, but Seungri’s side denies the allegations. In response, Seungri’s legal representative, Attorney Yoon Jae-bin of the law firm Surim, issued a statement on the 23rd stating, “It is true that Seungri picked up a soju bottle, but he never swung it at or struck the other person.” He added, “We believe it is up to the investigative authorities and the court to make a determination, and Seungri will continue to cooperate fully with the investigation.”
