[Edaily Reporter Han Jeon-jin ] Hyundai Department Store ( HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD(069960)) is establishing a new “Future Growth Promotion Office” that consolidates its digital business and in-house merchandising (product planning and procurement) operations. The company will dissolve its existing Digital Business Division and transfer the In-House Merchandising Division—previously part of the Merchandising Division—to the new organization. This move is seen as an effort to secure new growth engines by combining digital and product planning capabilities.

According to industry sources on the 29th, HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD is pushing forward with a 2027 organizational restructuring that includes these changes. The newly established Future Growth Promotion Office will oversee the The Hyundai Hi Business Division, the Digital Strategy Division, and the In-House Merchandising Division.

The Platform Business Division, which previously belonged to the Digital Business Headquarters, will be renamed the “The Hyundai Hi Business Division” and, along with the Digital Strategy Division, will be transferred to the Future Growth Promotion Office. This move consolidates the functions of the existing digital organization into the new office to streamline the business execution framework.

The In-House Merchandising Division, which was previously part of the Merchandising Headquarters, will also be transferred to the Future Growth Promotion Office. A key feature of this reorganization is that it places not only digital-related organizations but also merchandise planning and operations teams under the same office. This structure is designed to strengthen collaboration between organizations responsible for sales channels and merchandise.

This reorganization is interpreted as a move to break away from the existing framework of operating businesses by function and instead create new growth engines by linking digital initiatives with the In-House MD division. In particular, since the In-House MD organization—which was previously part of the Merchandising Division—has been moved to a separate unit, attention is focused on what kind of synergy it will generate with the digital business going forward.

Within the Merchandising Division, the existing Overseas Luxury Business Department will be split to establish a new Beauty and Miscellaneous Goods Business Department. The existing Future Business Department will be renamed the MD Strategy Department. In the sales organization, the Sales Division and the Member Operations and Management Department will be abolished, among other adjustments to the operational structure.

This organizational restructuring is taking place in conjunction with the regular executive appointments announced by HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD today. The Group has set “renewal amid stability” as the guiding principle for these appointments. A HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD official stated, “By appointing future-oriented talent capable of responding flexibly and agilely to changes in the business environment as new executives, we will intensively strengthen the organization’s dynamism and future business capabilities.”
