KRAFTON(259960)announced on the 30th that it is partnering with Netflix to produce a live-action series based on the “PUBG” game IP.
Donald Glover will serve as the series’ writer, director, lead actor, and executive producer. Donald Glover won Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for the drama “Atlanta,” and his notable works include “Atlanta” and “Community.” Stephen Glover will also serve as a writer and executive producer.
Michael Schaefer, CCO of NEON TV; Fam Udeorji, Creative Partner at Gilga; Jang Tae-seok, CEO of LV3H; and Lee Soo-jin, Vice President of LV3H, will also serve as executive producers.
KRAFTON’s entertainment subsidiary, “LV3H,” is participating in the series’ development and production and is driving the expansion of PUBG IP into video content. LV3H was launched last June following a rebranding of the former “PUBG Entertainment.” The name is derived from the “Level 3 Helmet” in the game, also known as the “Samdut.”
Further details regarding the live-action series based on the PUBG IP will be revealed at a later date.
