All eyes are on PearlAbyss Corp., which has entered a lull in new game releases, to see if it can sustain the sales momentum of its existing hit title through this DLC.

PearlAbyss Corp. released “Charting the Unknown,” the first downloadable content (DLC) for “Crimson Desert Enhanced,” worldwide on the 30th (KST).

It is available simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Apple Mac, and the Epic Games Store.

“Charting the Unknown” expands the game’s world with a new story, ocean voyages, and underwater exploration.

The DL’s new narrative begins with Cliff, Wungka, and Damian—who defended Paiwell—each setting out to find their own path in life. The content centers on the stories of these three characters following the conclusion of their original journey.

The scope of exploration also expands from land to sea. Players can build their own ships to sail to islands and dive to the ocean floor to search for treasure or ruins. This effectively broadens the range of areas and activities available for exploration within Pywell.

Lifestyle content has also been added. Players can build relationships with residents to become lovers or get married. Economic activities have also been introduced, allowing players to rent and operate facilities in liberated strongholds to generate income. The housing feature has been expanded beyond interior decoration to allow players to modify the very framework of their homes. Players can directly determine the placement of walls and windows as well as the building’s basic structure, and in some castles, they can customize the interior and courtyard as personal spaces after liberating the stronghold.

Furthermore, this DL adds lifestyle and management content based on player choices to the story and exploration elements of *Red Desert Enhanced*.

This DLC content is expected to be a key driver of PearlAbyss Corp.’s second-half financial performance. Market reaction on the first day of release has been positive. As of 10:00 a.m. that day, the main game *Red Desert Enhanced* and *Journey into the Unknown* were ranked 7th and 8th, respectively, on Steam’s Global Top Sellers chart.
