[E-Daily Reporter An Yu-ri ] Webzen Inc.(069080)is diversifying its new game lineup, centered on its core intellectual property (IP) “MU,” into MMORPGs and action RPGs. The company is simultaneously developing “MU Theos,” aimed at the domestic market for growth-oriented MMORPGs, and “PROJECT G,” targeting Western markets, to test the scalability of this long-standing IP.

On the 3rd, Webzen Inc. unveiled the brand identity (BI) for the MMORPG “MU Theos,” which is scheduled for release in the first half of 2027. The company plans to premiere the game’s cinematic teaser trailer at “G-STAR 2026,” a game exhibition taking place in Busan this month.

‘MU Theos’ continues the fast-paced character progression and growth-driven fun of the existing MU series. The company has outlined its development direction, which includes refining growth content and player-versus-player (PvP) mechanics, as well as ensuring a reasonable monetization model. It recently conducted internal testing and will begin preparations for launch after further polishing the game’s quality.

Webzen Inc. is also developing a hack-and-slash action RPG titled “PROJECT G” separately. First revealed via a teaser in 2025, the company is currently investing internally in this project to expand the MU IP into Western markets. This strategy involves adapting the same IP to different genres and markets.

The company is also actively securing new IPs. It is expanding its in-house development and publishing lineup across various genres—including subculture, defense, and MMORPGs—with titles such as the command-based strategy RPG “I Became the Tyrant of Defense Games: LAST STAGE,” which was showcased at G-STAR. Webzen Inc. plans to sequentially disclose release schedules and details for each game in the future.
