Analyzing Conversational Context, Tone, and Speech Rate Using Multimodal AI
Protection Against Spam, Smishing, and Voice Phishing: Brand Consolidated Under “Ansim 365”
[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] KTCorporation(030200)has unveiled an artificial intelligence (AI) service that detects voice phishing by analyzing not only the content of calls but also the caller’s tone and voice characteristics.
KTCorporation announced the launch of “Ansim 365 Voice Phishing Detection 3.0,” which utilizes multimodal AI technology. Going beyond the conventional approach of analyzing only call content or specific words, the service comprehensively examines nonverbal elements—such as conversational context, the speaker’s tone, and speaking speed—to determine whether a call is a voice phishing attempt.

Multimodal AI is a technology that analyzes different forms of information, such as text and speech, simultaneously. KTCorporation explains that this allows the system to detect suspicious signs in the flow of conversation and tone of voice, even if a criminal attempts to make the conversation seem normal or avoids using specific phrases. If a call is deemed risky, the service also provides the basis for the detection.
To protect personal information, the service uses an on-device approach that analyzes calls in real time on the smartphone itself, rather than transmitting the original call data to external servers.
This service is available by installing the HooHoo or HooHoo Recording app. It is available even to non-KTCorporation customers, and the basic HooHoo app service is free. Data charges may apply depending on the user’s plan.
On the 5th, KTCorporation will also release the “Ansim 365 Report” for KTCorporation customers. It can be viewed on the KTCorporation website and the MyKTCorporation app, and provides individual security scores and details on actual protection measures.
With the launch of this service, KTCorporation has consolidated its existing customer protection services—including AI-based text spam blocking, real-time spam blocking alerts, and voice phishing detection—under the “Ansim 365” brand. The company plans to set up a dedicated information page in the KT.com customer support menu to promote these services.
Choi Se-jun, Executive Vice President and Head of the Customer Strategy Division at KTCorporation’s Customer Headquarters, said, “We will utilize AI technology to safely protect customers from the various financial scams and security threats they may encounter in their daily lives.”
