On the 4th, Ray Co., Ltd. announced that it held the “Iraq Dental Seminar in Korea” on October 29–30 at Smiler Dental Clinic, located in the same building as its Munjeong-dong office in Seoul, inviting Iraqi dentists and others. Organized in collaboration with Vanest, RAY’s distributor in Iraq, the event was attended by a total of 15 people, including 13 local dentists and two Vanest representatives. Twelve of the dentists were potential customers, and one was an existing user.
On the first day of the seminar, following a welcome address by Professor Han Jung-seok of Seoul National University’s College of Dentistry and an introduction to key products, training and hands-on sessions on the RAY 5D and SMARTDent software were conducted. Participants learned how to utilize digital data in treatment planning by performing implant simulations. Subsequently, guided by Dr. Moon Jeong-bon, director of Smiler Dental Clinic, they observed how the digital equipment is used in actual clinical practice.
RAY 5D is a solution that combines 3D data captured via CBCT with 2D data obtained from a facial scanner (RAYFace) using specialized software to create a virtual patient avatar representing the patient’s mouth and face. Sales have been increasing in the global market since its launch last year.
On the second day, hands-on training using the RAYFace facial scanning device took place. Participants practiced the entire process firsthand, from facial scanning to registration with intraoral scan data, smile design, and mock-up placement. Training on the Dynamic Occlusion feature was also conducted, allowing participants to see how each function connects within the digital treatment workflow.
A Ray Co., Ltd. representative stated, “We plan to use this seminar for Iraqi dentists as an opportunity to acquire new users and strengthen cooperation with local distributors to expand our business.” They added, “In particular, we intend to broaden the user base for the RAY 5D solution and expand educational opportunities for sharing digital treatment experiences, thereby broadening our market reach as a global digital dentistry company.”
