[Edaily Reporter Lee Hye-ra] #NeuroMeka announced on the 8th that it won the “Technical Innovation Product Award in the Humanoid Robot Category” at the 12th China Chape Award ceremony.
The Čapek Award is a prestigious ceremony representing China’s robotics industry, recognizing companies and products that have contributed to robotic technology innovation and industrial development. Held annually in conjunction with the China International Robotics Summit Forum, it is regarded as an authoritative event attended by representatives from major robotics companies, research institutions, and investment firms.
Following last year’s win of the Technology Innovation Product Award for “OPTi,” an industry-specific collaborative robot designed for welding automation in shipbuilding and heavy industry, NeuroMeka continued its streak of winning the Chapek Award for two consecutive years by receiving the Technology Innovation Product Award in the humanoid robot category this year.
Recently, NeuroMeka has been establishing a local business foundation in China. Last year, the company established a joint venture called “LongMeka” with China’s LTOM Group and began building a local production, sales, and service system. Currently, LongMeka is based within the premises of the investment firm Wulong Guangdian in Chongqing, China, where it is hiring local engineering staff and expanding its business presence in the Chinese market by undertaking factory automation projects.
In particular, NeuroMeka is pursuing a welding automation business targeting the Chinese shipbuilding market, in addition to its collaborative robot-based automation business. As the world’s largest shipbuilding nation, China is seeing rapidly growing demand for automation to improve productivity and address labor shortages. NeuroMeka is promoting a welding automation business for local shipyards based on its industry-specific collaborative robot, OPTi.

NeuroMeka has developed the industry-specific collaborative robot "OPTi" based on its "Indy" series collaborative robot platform, and is currently expanding into the next-generation robot market through the development of the Physical AI-based humanoid robot "EIR." EIR is being developed as a general-purpose humanoid platform suitable for both industrial and service environments, and is being advanced into a Physical AI platform that integrates AI-based perception, decision-making, and task execution technologies.
Park Jong-hoon, CEO of NeuroMeka, stated, “This award is significant in that it recognizes NeuroMeka’s global-level technological competitiveness not only in collaborative robots but also in the field of humanoid robots.” He added, “We will continue to expand our business in global markets, including China, while also devoting ourselves to the development of next-generation robot technology based on Physical AI.”
