[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Six world-class women’s tennis players, including Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Świątek, and Naomi Osaka, will gather at the “Naver Arena” on Yeongjong Island in Incheon this December. An event where they will meet fans will also be held at the Naver 1784 Extended Reality (XR) Studio the day before the matches.

Naver (NAVER(035420)) announced on the 27th that ticket sales for “Naver × Hyundai Card THE SIX,” taking place at Naver Arena from December 25 to 27, will begin today.

This tournament marks the first event to be held at the Inspire Arena following its renaming to “Naver Arena at Inspire” this December.

With a total prize pool of $1.1 million, six world-class women’s tennis players will compete in a tournament format.

Six World-Class Women’s Tennis Players to Participate

The six participating players are Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Iga Świątek, Naomi Osaka, Mira Andreeva, and Jasmine Paolini. The lineup features world-class players, including Grand Slam champions and Olympic gold medalists.

The tournament will be broadcast live on KBS and on Naver’s streaming platform, Chizichik.

Tickets can be purchased by searching for “Naver Hyundai Card The Six” on Naver to access the booking page. Bookings are open to Naver Plus Membership members and Hyundai Card members, and “Naver Hyundai Card” members will receive a 10% discount on ticket prices.

Users who purchase tickets for all five matches will be entered into a drawing for the chance to participate in a one-point clinic with the players.

XR Fan Event at Naver 1784 the Day Before the Matches

The six participating players will visit the Naver 1784 headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on December 24, the day before the tournament.

The players will host a fan-participation event at “VISION STAGE,” an XR production studio built within 1784. VISION STAGE is an XR studio equipped with an 8K LED screen measuring 13 meters wide and 5 meters high, as well as cine cameras, lighting, and a real-time graphics production environment.

Naver plans to showcase content featuring virtual backgrounds such as the Naver Arena and tennis courts, as well as each player’s signature poses.

Face Recognition for Entry and NFT Tickets

Naver’s payment and authentication technologies will also be applied to the actual tournament operations. At the venue, admission will be supported using NFT (non-fungible token) tickets based on the Npay wallet, and “Facesign,” a facial recognition access and authentication service, will also be implemented.

Facesign is Naver’s facial recognition technology that verifies a user’s identity using pre-registered facial data for access control and payments.

Events linked to Naver’s short-form video service, Clip, are also being prepared for the venue.

Starting with this event, Naver plans to host various offline events at Naver Arena, including concerts, music festivals, and esports competitions.

Naver previously signed a three-year agreement with Inspire for the arena’s naming rights and a strategic partnership. The vision is to integrate Team Naver’s services—including membership, payment and authentication, and digital twins—into Naver Arena, transforming it into an entertainment space that bridges the online and offline worlds.
