[Edaily Reporter NA EUN-KYUNG ] “Dermagram PDRN Cream,” an over-the-counter medication for skin conditions manufactured by CHONGKUNDANG(185750), has been included in the Korea Tourism Organization’s list of recommended products for foreign tourists to purchase at Korean pharmacies.

CHONGKUNDANG announced on the 27th that “Dermagram PDRN Cream” was featured as a recommended product in the column “Must-Do Activities in Korea: K-Pharmacy Shopping,” published last September on “VISITKOREA,” the Korea Tourism Organization’s official multilingual tourism information portal.

The column addressed the growing interest among foreign tourists visiting Korea in over-the-counter medications and skincare products sold at pharmacies. In particular, it introduced “pharmacy skincare shopping” as a new trend in tourism consumption and highlighted the DermaGram PDRN Cream as one of the recommended skincare products.

Dermagram PDRN Cream is an over-the-counter (OTC) medication in cream form, with polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) as its main ingredient. PDRN is a fragment of DNA derived from salmon that aids in the recovery of damaged tissue. As it is an OTC medication rather than a cosmetic product, it must be used in accordance with its approved indications and effects.

This product is used to aid skin regeneration by supplying nutrients to areas prone to wounds or ulcers due to nutritional deficiencies in the skin and connective tissue. According to CHONGKUNDANG, a key feature of the product is that PDRN is manufactured in a low-molecular-weight, high-purity form through a patented purification process.

As foreign tourists’ shopping lists in Korea have recently expanded beyond cosmetics to include over-the-counter medications sold at pharmacies, domestic pharmaceutical companies are also introducing skin care-related products.

A CHONGKUNDANG official stated, “This recommendation by the Korea Tourism Organization demonstrates that overseas consumers’ interest in K-Beauty is expanding beyond cosmetics to include over-the-counter medications from domestic pharmaceutical companies,” adding, “We will continue to introduce skin health products based on our differentiated pharmaceutical technology and competitive quality.”
