[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon] #SBI Investment is stepping up efforts to enhance the value of its portfolio companies by supporting collaboration among firms in the K-Beauty sector.

SBI Investment announced on the 12th that it held a networking event titled “SBI K-Beauty Connect” on the 11th to support collaboration and growth among its portfolio companies in the K-Beauty sector.

This event was organized to bring together K-Beauty value chain companies invested in by SBI Investment in one place to expand business collaboration opportunities and create synergies within the industry.

Thirteen portfolio companies from the raw materials, original design manufacturing (ODM), branding, and distribution/marketing sectors participated in the event. In the raw materials sector, Chemiland, NFC, BJY, and Plcoskin attended, while in the manufacturing sector, Picostec and PF Nature were present. Brand companies included Skin & Plus, Moim, Baram International, and Jilgong-i, while distribution and marketing firms such as Cham Yaksa and Boosters were also in attendance.

The event began with a seminar featuring invited cosmetics industry analysts and IPO experts, followed by business introductions by participating companies, product and technology presentations, discussions on collaboration needs, and a networking program. Participating companies shared the latest trends in the cosmetics industry and IPO market information, and discussed new business opportunities and collaboration strategies.

SBI Investment is a domestic venture capital firm established in 1986. With approximately 39 years of investment experience, it currently manages assets worth about 1.5 trillion won, has invested in over 1,000 companies, and has facilitated IPOs for more than 220 companies. Its investment portfolio spans various industries, including AI, semiconductors, biotechnology, content, and consumer goods.

Recently, the firm has been strengthening its “value-up” investment strategy, which goes beyond mere capital injection to support the growth and enhance the corporate value of its portfolio companies. In particular, it has established a support system covering the entire growth process—including business collaboration, market expansion, follow-on investments, and IPO support—based on the network among its portfolio companies.

An SBI Investment representative stated, “This event was organized to expand practical collaboration opportunities among portfolio companies and to identify new growth opportunities within the K-Beauty industry,” adding, “Moving forward, SBI Investment plans to continue expanding synergies among portfolio companies as a partner that actively supports their growth following investment.”
