Lee Hyun signed an exclusive contract with Big Hit Music (then Big Hit Entertainment) in 2007 and debuted as a member of the co-ed group 8T. Produced by Bang Si-hyuk, Chairman of HYBE, 8T promoted with songs such as “No Heart,” “I’ll Block Those Lips,” “Goodbye Is Coming,” and “I Sing After Losing Love.”
Later, in 2010, Lee Hyun formed the duo Homme with Lee Chang-min of 2AM and released “All You Did Was Eat Well”; the following year, she began her solo career with the release of “The Best of What I Have.” In 2023, she garnered attention by releasing “Masquerade” under the stage name MIDNATT in a total of six languages—Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
With the signing of this contract renewal, Lee Hyun and Big Hit Music will continue their partnership for the 19th consecutive year. Big Hit Music’s roster includes Lee Hyun, as well as BTS, Tomorrow X Together, and Cortis.
Big Hit Music stated, “It is deeply meaningful to continue our relationship with an artist who has been with us since the company’s early days. Based on the trust we’ve solidly built over the past 19 years, we plan to actively support Lee Hyun’s activities.”
Lee Hyun said, “I have signed a contract renewal with Big Hit Music, which is my musical home and my most reliable partner. As has always been the case, this decision is based on deep mutual trust and respect.” She added, “I want to show the fans who have been waiting for my music that I’m active more frequently and energetically. I will create many opportunities to connect through music and strive to be a singer who never stops singing.”
