[Edaily Reporter Byung-ho Jang ] The SBS Friday-Saturday drama “Manager Kim” set a new personal best in viewership ratings and climbed to second place among all SBS Friday-Saturday dramas of all time.

According to Nielsen Korea on the 12th, the sixth episode of “Manager Kim,” which aired the previous day, recorded a 22.3% rating nationwide and a 23.2% rating in the Seoul metropolitan area. The peak viewership soared to 26.4%. The 2049 demographic rating averaged 8.1% and peaked at 9.3%.

“Manager Kim” took the top spot in viewership not only among programs airing in the same time slot that day but also among all programs broadcast that week. Furthermore, it surpassed “The Fiery Priest” (22.8% in the Seoul metropolitan area), “Model Taxi 2” (21.8%), “Good Partner” (18.7%), “Wonder Woman” (18.5%), and “Stove League” (18.3%), ranking second all-time among SBS Friday-Saturday dramas in terms of viewership. The all-time number one spot is held by “Penthouse 2.”

In that day’s episode, Director Kim (played by So Ji-sub), Seong Han-soo (played by Choi Dae-hoon), and Park Jin-cheol (played by Yoon Kyung-ho) joined forces to rescue Min-ji (played by Seo Soo-min), who had been detained by the Special Missions Bureau.

After discovering that Min-ji had gotten into Joo Kang-chan’s (played by Joo Sang-wook) car, Director Kim headed to Joo Kang-chan’s villa with Seong Han-soo. Joo Kang-chan attempted to eliminate Min-ji after she realized his true identity, but the situation took a turn when agents from the Special Missions Bureau raided the villa.

Director Danggangaji (played by Won Hyun-joon) of the Special Missions Bureau attempted to secure Min-ji, but Joo Kang-chan persuaded the Vice Minister of National Security (played by Im Cheol-hyung) to order the agents to withdraw. During this chaos, Jung Sang-ah (played by Son Na-eun) and Mr. Im from the laundry shop (played by Park Jin-woo) helped Min-ji escape from the basement, but she was recaptured by the Special Missions Bureau.

After subduing the Special Missions Bureau agents, Director Kim stole a vehicle and set off in pursuit. He warned Tanggangaji, “If you so much as touch a single hair on my daughter’s head, you’ll all die,” and stated that he would surrender if Min-ji were returned to him.

Seong Han-su hid inside a Special Missions Bureau vehicle and infiltrated the headquarters. Entering the interrogation room through an air vent, he rescued Min-ji and subdued the agents, but was then surrounded by a heavily armed SWAT team in the indoor parking garage. Seong Han-su told Min-ji to run away alone, saying he would act as a decoy.

At the critical moment, Park Jin-cheol arrived driving a vehicle loaded with weapons. Park Jin-cheol used flashbang and smoke grenades and provided covering fire with a machine gun to help Seong Han-su and Min-ji escape. However, when it was revealed that the rounds he had fired were blank rounds, the Special Missions Bureau launched a counterattack, and the three were surrounded once again.

Just as Seong Han-su and Park Jin-cheol were about to surrender to ensure Min-ji’s safety, the Vice Minister of National Security appeared and ordered the agents to drop their weapons. Director Kim, who had subdued the Vice Minister by wrapping a wire around his neck, stepped forward. After reuniting with his daughter, he said, “Min-ji, Daddy’s here. Let’s go home now,” and the episode ended.
