[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] NSRC, a subsidiary of Aroot Co., Ltd.(096690)specializing in semiconductor equipment, is expanding its presence in overseas markets after securing an order worth $1.1 million for refurbished lithography equipment from a Taiwanese semiconductor fab.
NSRC announced on the 15th that it had signed a contract to supply “i-line” refurbished lithography equipment to a Taiwanese semiconductor fab. This marks another overseas order secured by the company, following a previous contract worth $1.4 million (approximately 2.1 billion KRW) for technical services related to high-resolution lithography equipment for advanced processes with a Chinese semiconductor company. The company plans to enhance the equipment based on its proprietary technology and supply it tailored to the customer’s production lines. This equipment is used in the lithography process to form circuit patterns on semiconductor wafers and is applied across various semiconductor production lines.
Recently, demand for refurbished lithography equipment has been growing, particularly among small and medium-sized semiconductor fabs in Taiwan and China, leading to an expansion in overseas orders. Refurbished equipment can reduce both the implementation time and costs compared to new equipment; in particular, i-line equipment is highly useful for small and medium-sized fabs seeking to expand or convert their production lines.
An NSRC official stated, “We recently successfully delivered refurbished lithography equipment to a Taiwanese company last year, which helped us build trust and led to additional orders,” adding, “Amid growing demand for refurbished lithography equipment in the global market, we are seeing a surge in orders based on our proven technological capabilities and track record.”
The official continued, “We recently completed the delivery of $2.95 million worth of refurbished lithography equipment to a Taiwanese company, and since we plan to supply the equipment from this latest order within the year, earnings growth centered on lithography equipment will begin in earnest starting this year.” They added, “We are also in discussions with semiconductor companies in several countries regarding additional supplies, so we anticipate further orders.”
