On the 18th, Joo Sang-wook posted a photo on his social media accountshowing him undergoing special makeup for the filming of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama “Director Kim.” He added a short caption to the post—“It hurts… I’ll be a good boy from now on…”—which made netizens laugh. “Director Kim” is an action drama that tells the story of Director Kim (played by So Ji-sub), a legendary former special operations agent who had been living the life of an ordinary father as the head of a bank’s accounting team, but who returns to the fray to reclaim his only daughter, Min-ji (played by Seo Su-min). Joo Sang-wook is currently appearing in the series as Joo Kang-chan, the CEO of Ju Hak Construction. In Episode 7 of “Director Kim,” which aired the previous day, Director Kim, along with Seong Han-su (played by Choi Dae-hoon) and Park Jin-cheol (played by Yoon Kyung-ho), rescued his daughter Min-ji (played by Seo Su-min) and then tracked down Ju Kang-chan—the mastermind behind the kidnapping—to bring him to justice. The photo Joo Sang-wook posted that day appears to have been taken during the filming of a scene featured in Episode 7. Meanwhile, the episode concluded with Director Kim—who had bid farewell to Min-ji and voluntarily surrendered—being taken to North Korea, where he faced a life-or-death crisis.
