Noh Tae-moon: “Mobile Is the Intelligent Touchpoint Closest to the AI Era”
[London (UK) = E-Daily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] SamsungElectronics(005930)has set out to expand its “AI device ecosystem” by reorganizing its foldable smartphone lineup into a three-model system and unveiling its first artificial intelligence (AI) glasses. The company has segmented its foldable lineup based on usage purposes and expanded the scope of Galaxy AI from smartphones to the wrist and field of view, marking the full-scale launch of its next-generation mobile strategy.
Noh Tae-moon, CEO of SamsungElectronics and Head of the DX Division (President), stated at “Galaxy Unpacked 2026,” held on the 22nd (local time) at Old Billingsgate in London, UK, “As AI evolves, mobile devices will become the closest point of contact that best understands users and seamlessly integrates into their daily lives,” adding, “The new Galaxy Z series, as SamsungElectronics’ most refined foldable products, will provide personalized services and usher in the era of next-generation intelligence.”
SamsungElectronics unveiled the “Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra,” “Galaxy Z Fold8,” and “Galaxy Z Flip8” that day. This marks the first time the Fold series has been divided into standard and ultra-high-performance models.

Moving away from the previous elongated form factor, it adopts a shorter, wider 7.6-inch 4:3 main screen to enhance usability for content such as videos, e-books, the web, and social media. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 2,278,100 won, which is lower than that of its predecessor.
The top-of-the-line Fold 8 Ultra features an 8-inch large display, a 200-megapixel camera, and a 5,000mAh battery, enhancing productivity and photography capabilities. It is priced at 2,577,300 won, while the 1TB model costs 3,451,800 won.
Both Fold models feature a “Flex Titanium” structure utilizing a titanium alloy film and a reinforcing plate, focusing on improved durability and reduced screen creasing. Maximum screen brightness has also been increased to 3,000 nits.
AI capabilities have also been significantly enhanced. The devices feature “Now Nudge,” which combines Galaxy AI and Google Gemini to analyze the user’s context and suggest relevant features, and the “Agent” function—which connects multiple apps to perform tasks such as searching, booking, and schedule management—has been expanded.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 focuses on portability and AI utilization. Weighing 180g and featuring a 4.1-inch cover screen, the Flex Window has been redesigned with AI at its core to allow users to check key features and personalized information without unfolding the smartphone.
Samsung has clearly differentiated the roles of its products: the Fold 8 targets content consumption, the Fold 8 Ultra targets productivity and photography, and the Flip 8 targets portability and style.
