[Edaily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] Hanwha Vision has obtained a “Security Capability Certificate” from the National Intelligence Service and is accelerating its push into the public video security market. Having received official recognition for its AI-based CCTV security technology, the company plans to expand its business not only to public institutions but also to the financial sector and the private market.

Hanwha Vision announced on the 23rd that four models in its AI CCTV lineup have obtained the “Security Function Certification” issued by the National Intelligence Service (NIS). The NIS Security Function Certification is a mandatory qualification for supplying video security equipment to public institutions and can only be obtained by meeting the highest security standards and specifications in South Korea.

The products that received this certification are four models of the flagship “P Series AI 4K” cameras (Box, Dome, Bullet, and Vandal).

Hanwha Vision has met all three core security requirements mandated by the NIS: △ data protection, △ software security, and △ access control. The company applied state-designated encryption technology to the processes of video generation, transmission, and storage within the products to prevent data eavesdropping, and strengthened its ability to respond to cyberattacks through anti-tampering mechanisms and storage device protection features.

The company plans to use this certification as an opportunity to further expand its presence in the public sector market. Its strategy is to increase its AI CCTV lineup with certified security functionality to a total of 14 models by the second half of this year, thereby expanding its market share in the public sector.
