[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] Samsung SDS (SAMSUNG SDS CO., LTD.(018260)) has formed a strategic partnership with global AI company Anthropic and is set to target the domestic enterprise AI market with its generative AI, “Claude.”

The companies will expand the scope of their collaboration—from identifying joint business opportunities to training AI specialists and rolling out the technology across Samsung affiliates—to provide full-scale support for corporate AI transformation (AX).

Samsung SDS announced that it has signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement with Anthropic to expand the enterprise AI market.

Through this collaboration, the two companies will jointly pursue the following initiatives: ▲ identifying new AI business opportunities in Korea and expanding the market; ▲ training Applied AI Engineers responsible for building and operating Claude; and ▲ transforming organizations into AI-native entities by expanding Claude Enterprise to Daesang affiliates.

First, Samsung SDS will support companies in adopting AI based on its digital transformation (DX) experience accumulated across various industries, including manufacturing, finance, and the public sector. The companies plan to jointly pioneer the domestic AI market through joint marketing, proof-of-concept (PoC) projects, and joint ventures.

They are also stepping up efforts to cultivate AI specialists. Samsung SDS operates a training program for “Applied AI Engineers” who can handle the entire process—from planning the adoption of Claude to its implementation, operation, and technical support. The strategy is to systematically secure hands-on experts capable of actually applying and operating AI in corporate environments.

Samsung SDS also highlighted its own experience in utilizing AI as a competitive advantage. In line with its “Client Zero” strategy—which involves first validating new technologies internally before rolling them out to customers—the company proactively introduced Claude Enterprise to its employees.

During the first few weeks of implementation, the number of messages exchanged between employees and Claude exceeded 1 million, and approximately half of the users are utilizing “Claude Code,” an AI tool designed for developers.

Currently, Claude Enterprise is provided to approximately 70,000 employees across 20 Samsung affiliates, and the company is using this as a foundation to drive its transformation into an AI-native organization. Building on this operational experience, Samsung SDS plans to expand its AX business by supporting external corporate customers throughout the entire process—from Claude adoption to utilization and operation.

Chris Siauri, Head of Anthropic International, stated, “Samsung SDS is a partner with deep expertise in enterprise AI implementation,” adding, “We entered into this strategic partnership because they possess the core capabilities to accelerate the adoption of Claude among Korean companies.”

Lee Jun-hee, CEO (President) of Samsung SDS, remarked, “This collaboration marks the starting point for jointly driving the growth of the domestic AI market by combining Anthropic’s AI technology with Samsung SDS’s experience in industry-specific digital innovation,” adding, “We will support our customers’ AI innovation and create new business value through reliable AI solutions.”

Meanwhile, Samsung SDS is expanding its collaboration with global AI companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Cloud to support enterprise customers in leveraging generative AI. The company is also working to enhance work productivity and competitiveness by providing various generative AI services—including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini—to all Samsung affiliates.
