[Edaily Reporter An Yu-ri ] Samsung Electronics ( SamsungElectronics(005930)) announced on the 26th that it will launch the “Next Galaxy AI Subscription Club,” featuring enhanced benefits, ahead of the pre-sale of the new Galaxy Z series—the “Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8.”
The “Next Galaxy AI Subscription Club” is a service that guarantees up to 50% of the residual value when members return their devices after subscription, and offers various benefits such as “Samsung Care+” and discounts on accessory packages.
First, customers who purchase an unlocked “Galaxy Z Flip 8” and sign up for the 2-year “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club” will receive the “Flip Youth Subscription” benefit.
The “Flip Youth Subscription” guarantees a residual value of up to 50% of the list price to customers in their teens and twenties who return their “Galaxy Z Flip 8”—a device popular among this demographic—after two years of use.
In addition, subscribers will receive a one-month subscription to the “Speak” Premium Plus language learning app.
SamsungElectronics has added a new “3-year” plan to the “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club” foldable smartphone subscription options, in addition to the existing 1-year and 2-year plans.
Customers who sign up for the 3-year plan will receive the “Samsung Care+ Smartphone Loss/Damage” plan, which covers both damage and loss.
Loss coverage is provided up to three times, once every 12 months, with a 30% deductible based on the device’s standard price. Damage coverage is unlimited, with a 30% deductible on service fees (minimum 30,000 won).
In addition, the plan offers benefits such as free repair services, battery replacement services, and on-site repair services throughout the subscription period. If the battery efficiency falls below 80%, the deductible for battery replacement is 20,000 won.
The 1-year and 2-year plans offer the “Samsung Care+ Smartphone Damage” plan, which focuses on damage coverage.
Customers who purchase a new 8th-generation unlocked foldable model and join the Subscription Club can receive
the 1-year plan guarantees 50% of the Samsung.com list price, the 2-year plan guarantees 40% (50% for the Galaxy Z Flip 8), and the 3-year plan guarantees 25% of the list price as residual value.
"Up to 3 million won in compensation for cyber financial crimes"
All subscribers are eligible for compensation of up to 3 million won in the event of cyber financial crimes such as phishing, smishing, hacking, or pharming, and up to 500,000 won in the event of fraud involving online direct transactions or online shopping.
The monthly subscription fee for the “Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Fold 8” is 9,900 won for 1- and 2-year plans and 14,500 won for the 3-year plan, while the “Galaxy Z Flip 8” costs 8,900 won per month for 1- and 2-year plans and 11,500 won per month for the 3-year plan.
SamsungElectronics has also prepared renewal benefits for existing “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club” customers.
Customers who subscribed to the 1-year plan for the “Galaxy Z Fold 7” or “Z Flip 7” last year and purchase a new unlocked model of the “Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra,” “Fold 8,” or “Flip 8” and re-subscribe to the “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club” will receive “SamsungFire&MarineInsurance 365 Travel Insurance” for one year.
Jeong Ho-jin, Executive Vice President of SamsungElectronics Korea, stated, “We have upgraded the ‘New Galaxy AI Subscription Club’ by comprehensively considering benefits that allow users to use foldable devices with peace of mind, financial security in daily life, and the preferences of the 10s and 20s demographic.” He added, “We will continue to introduce differentiated, peace-of-mind subscription services that reflect our customers’ lifestyles.”
