According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 27th, as of 10:25 a.m., “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (Spider-Man) ranked first in advance ticket sales with 588,672 tickets sold. “Spider-Man” has been topping the advance ticket sales charts since nine days before its release, fueling excitement for the film’s box office performance.
This pace is faster than that of *Avatar: The Way of Water* (*Avatar 2*), which drew 10.82 million viewers in South Korea in 2022.
Second place in advance ticket sales goes to director Christopher Nolan’s new film *Odyssey*, set to open next month. *Odyssey* recorded 108,816 advance tickets sold. The film *Hope*, which continues to dominate the domestic box office, took third place with 75,966 advance tickets sold.
“Spider-Man: A Brand-New Day” is the fourth installment in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man series. It tells the story of Peter Parker, who chose to erase himself from everyone’s memory but gains uncontrollable powers due to an unexpected DNA mutation.
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker, alongside Zendaya, Mark Ruffalo, Jacob Batalon, John Bernthal, and Michael Mando. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” It opens on the 29th.
